Brighton Dome and Festival Limited announced the resignation of its Chief Executive, Nick Dodds after seven years in the role. Mr Dodds, who is responsible for both the year round operation of Brighton Dome and the annual Brighton Festival, will leave the company next year to set up his own festival and events business. Polly Toynbee, Chair of Brighton Dome and Festival, said; “Nick has done a fantastic job for the organisation over an important period, completing the refurbishment of the Dome, setting up the new combined business, re-launching the Brighton Festival and we are sorry to see him go. Nick is leaving the Festival and Dome in great shape and we will shortly be launching a national search for a new Chief Executive.” Nick Dodds said; “Its been an enormous privilege to lead the team over seven years, making Brighton Dome the South Coast’s leading arts, entertainment and conference centre and developing Brighton Festival as England’s brightest and best annual arts event. The Dome and Festival have such strong support in the City and I know from my experience at Edinburgh and as Chairman of the British Arts Festivals Association, that there is a real opportunity to develop them further. The company has a very strong board, a great management and staff team and will go from strength to strength”
