Annual IFEA Europe Conference- 180 delegates participated!

 

The IFEA Europe Annual Conference 2008 was recently held in Reykjavik. 180 delegates from Europe and North America met in the islandic landscape and spent 3 days of learning, reflection and dialogue about the being and future of the festival and public event industry. 

IFEA Europe, the European network connecting festival and public event professionals around the world, holds every year an annual conference where members and members yet to be from the festival and public event industry can participate and network. Festivals provide excellent opportunities to build bridges between age groups, art forms, artists and viewers, cultures and classes in a creative environment.

This year - 2008 - the subject to debate and meet around was;

By creativity, we mean that which is characterized by imagination, fantasy, innovation, courage, respect, ambition, meticulousness and professionalism. 

The conference delegates participated in inspiring keynotes, provoking discussions and refreshing workshops where themes such as creative marketing, creativity management, intercultural creativity and creative vision were discussed.

In Reykjavik delegates met and listen to Johan Moerman, director of Rotterdam Festivals, Max Dager director of the Nordic House in Reykjavik, Susie Heargraves and Richard Hadley from Audiences Europe, Moniek Hover of the University of Breda, Lorna Clarke from BBC Electric Proms and Dr. Joe Goldblatt (CSEP) to name but a few.
